" Pavel has been a great asset to the OSCE and I hope that he will be available to work with us for years to come. The impact his interventions have are immediate, long-term and worth every cent. Apart from that, it is a joy to work with such a reliable, conscientious, engaged and professional consultant."

" Pavel displayed an amazingly diverse formal/academic training, which he combined quite ably with his strong communication skills and genuine talent to enhance the whole learning experience. He demonstrated to be himself a highly motivated professional who seeks (and manages) to motivate and inspire others. "

My name is Pavel Barta and I had the privilege to learn about the power of EI from first-hand experience. As a child, my academic performance in basic school was so poor that I did not qualify for high school but instead entered into vocational training to work in a factory. Later, as a teenager, I discovered that many of my learning difficulties had their roots in emotional intelligence, or lack thereof, instead of poor IQ. As a consequence of this newly attuned IQ & EI skills, I managed to graduate from high school with distinction, later earning a BSc (hons) in human resource management in Ireland and an international MBA (dist) in France. Besides influencing my academic performance, emotional intelligence, or occasionally lack thereof, continues to play an important role in all aspects of my life - including quality of relationships, health, and performance at work and elsewhere.
Regarding my professional career, I have an extensive international (Scotland, Ireland, Belgium, Austria, Czech Republic. France, Canada, and Kazakhstan) work experience from diverse fields such as manufacturing, management consulting, training, financial services, higher education and non-governmental organisations. On a more personal level, I am a happy husband and a proud father of 5 (4 boys and a baby girl), I love to travel and to play sports, in particular, ice-hockey. Why starting Insight-S-Smart? It was during the time I was working on my one year long MBA thesis based on the topic of ‘influence of emotional intelligence within multicultural teams' that I have decided to fully focus on EI. While doing the research, I have noticed that there is a large gap between what people and organisations achieve and what their real potential is. In fact, I was shocked to see how many of us live under our privileges and how little predictive power IQ carries. At the same time, I felt inspired by simple yet powerful and universal principles behind emotional intelligence ... principles that enable us to thrive within our personal and professional lives.
